CHICAGO, March 28, 2022 – Todd A. Smith, a founding partner of Smith LaCien LLP – Trial Lawyers, was elected for a three-year term to the Board of Directors of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers at their Annual Meeting March 16 – 20 in Los Angeles.
The Academy is a group of 500 elite trial lawyers representing both sides of the Bar: prosecutors and defense lawyers in criminal cases, and plaintiffs and defense counsel in civil litigation (including business and personal injury matters).
The Academy includes lawyers from more than 30 countries, including the U.S. Fellowship is by invitation only, and lawyers become Fellows only after a careful peer-reviewed vetting process. During his legal career, Smith has served in a leadership capacity for numerous national, regional and local lawyer organizations.
He is a past president of the American Association for Justice, the Illinois State Bar Association and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association.
